My happiest day...March 28, 2003.
I met Tim when he brought several Richard Childress (RCR) show cars to an event I was co-chairing at the City of Pinellas Park, Florida. That is where my story begins…We begin a long distant relationship since I lived in Florida and Tim lived in North Carolina. On March 28, 2003 we married under a beautiful Florida sunset. Later that year I retired and joined Tim in NC to our newly built home in Lexington.
Tim spent 20+ years working for various NASCAR teams: Richard Childress Racing (RCR), Petty Enterprises, Roush Racing, WINSTON, Rusty Wallace, Michael Waltrip, Morgan McClure, and JKS Motorsports. Tim traveled the roads from track to track hauling race cars, show cars, and NEXTEL’s office trailer. I had the best life of all by being able to travel with Tim and seeing the world thru his eyes. Tim loved his job and loved people – he never met a stranger no matter where we went – his smile was infectious and his bubbly personality left you remembering him.
After leaving NASCAR Tim went to work as the personal coach driver for the Country Music duo group” Big and Rich” and was traveling all over the country – although there was more traveling and longer periods of time where he was away from home he loved that job and all the people he worked with while on the road.
Tim was returning home from a long trip being on the road, when he suffered sudden cardiac arrest. Tim went to be with the Lord at the young age of 52..
Tim brought so much joy, happiness, and love to my life – my love for him was unconditional. Our hearts to this day are still very much connected – Tim always bought me yellow roses, he knew that was my favorite flower and color. When I get down and start to cry, or even get scared a beautiful yellow rose will bloom in my garden or a yellow butterfly will suddenly appear….that brings me comfort.
Thank you Tim Rogers for sharing your life with me.
