THE EXECUTIVE CHALLENGE

As a LEADER in Southwest Michigan can you help save lives today? The answer is yes!

Did you know Heart Disease is the #1 killer of all Americans over the age of 20? That is - 1 in 3 will die from Heart Disease. Look around your businesses and realize this is a reality in our own lives, but you can help us fund lifesaving research, education and advocacy efforts that directly impact our community.

JOIN the EXECUTIVE CHALLENGE by making a personal contribution of $500 or more toward our goal to raise $25,000 by April 26th. Simply click on the DONATE button above to make your donation directly to your Company Team Page or if you don’t have a company team, contact Von at vwashington@kalamazoopromise.com or Kimberly kimberly.earnshaw@heart.org and they will help you make that donation so it is recognized as part of our Executive Challenge!

Every day 2500 Americans will die from cardiovascular disease, so please don’t wait another day, pledge today to make a difference.

Cooper Tawoda

Who couldn’t resist playing a game of peek-a-boo with Cooper Tawoda? He and his family will be at the Southwestern Michigan Heart Walk in Kalamazoo on April 26. Why? See what his mother Lindsay shared on a blog. “In March, 2012, my husband Bob and I received some not so good news. At 23 weeks pregnant, our baby boy was diagnosed with a rare congenital heart defect called Pulmonary Atresia and Hypoplastic Right Heart Syndrome. The only way to repair this condition is through a series of 3 surgeries from birth up to age 3. We still have a lot of questions to get answered, and while it has been an emotional and physical challenge for all of us, we know we have great doctors and are in good hands. We also know we have lots of love and support from our friends and family and are praying hard for the best possible outcome and strength from God to get us through this difficult road ahead.” Cooper is on this journey with a lot of love and support from family and friends. Funding research means that new developments are just around the corner and can help children like Cooper get cutting edge medical care. Have you registered for the Kalamazoo Heart Walk yet? We hope you do! Come and meet Cooper!

The American Heart Association is the largest voluntary health organization working to prevent, treat and defeat heart disease, stroke and other cardiovascular diseases. These diseases, the Nation's No.1 and No.4 killers, claim more than 813,804 American lives a year. Thanks to all our walkers, donors and volunteers who have accepted the challenge to help fight heart disease and stroke. We cannot achieve our mission without each one of you!
