2014 Siouxland Heart Walk


Meet Regyn Lloyd, she is a Survivor

After birth my diagnosis was changed to "Double Inlet Left Ventrical Transposition Mitral Atresia." In ABC's I have a 3 chamber heart consisting of only one ventricle, a transposed aorta, and something to do with the mitral valve... lol...

At 18 and 6 (weeks) my mom and dad attended the first ultra sound and learned that there was something wrong with me. It was nearly a few days or closer to a week that we learned I had a rare heart defect. Mom and dad over the next several months met with many doctors and consulted on the many options and things that were to come. On July 3, I was born in Omaha, NE, and was transported within a few hours to the NICU at Children’s Hospital a few miles away. It was then my journey began. On July 3, I had my first heart surgery...
