Meet our very special survivor - Asher
and read his Success Story

Asher Kachura was born on New Years Eve in 2008 in Montgomery County, Maryland. He came into the world as a strong, 9lb 3oz. baby boy with lots of family and friends who were excited to meet him.

On Asher’s first day of life the nurses began noticing slight hand pumping movements, and within a short time it was apparent he was seizures on the right side of his body. After being rushed to the NICU at Georgetown University Medical Center and having an MRI performed – the doctor was ready to give a diagnoses. Asher was having seizures because he had had a stroke in the left Main Cerebral Artery.

National Start! Walking Day is APRIL 7TH!

Join us Wednesday, April 7 for National Start! Walking Day.

Sign up now to receive your FREE downloadable Tool Kit. It includes lots of fun materials and tips to easily promote National Start Walking day in your workplace.

Heart disease is this country's No.1 killer. But by exercising for as little as 30 minutes each day you can reduce your risk.

These days, adults like you are spending more time at work than ever before. An unfortunate side effect is that, as a nation, we're becoming more inactive. This is a problem when you consider the fact that physical inactivity doubles the risk of heart disease!

But take heart! It's a problem you can help fix by convincing your company to take part in National Start! Walking Day.

On this day, employees are encouraged to wear sneakers to work and take at least 30 minutes out of their day to get up and walk. It's a great way to raise awareness of the Start! movement and to give your coworkers a friendly push toward a healthier life.

Get the Ball Rolling!
It's pretty simple to get your company to participate in National Start! Walking Day. Start by having your HR representative or Worksite Wellness coordinator fill out this registration form to download a National Start! Walking Day toolkit for your company. It includes posters and signs you can use to set up walking paths around the office.
