Heart Survivor Shelly.... - Two years ago 35 year old Shelly went to the emergency room thinking she had bronchitis. As a working mother of two little boys she brushed off her symptoms taking everyone else's health more seriously than her own. Shelly was shocked to learn she was in congestive heart failure caused by viral cardiomyopathy, a virus that weakened her heart. She was lucky to make it to the hospital in time. Before she left the hospital, Shelly had a defibrillator implanted to help her heart’s pace and shock her if her heart stopped beating. For the last two years Shelly has listened to her doctors and kept up with approved exercise and healthy eating.....the good news is her post-heart event regiment has paid off and her heart strength has improved!! Join Shelly and her family on May 18th to raise funds for research and education so that everyone has a fighting chance!
